The following Frequently Asks Questions summarize how Intact Insurance is responding with COVID-19 relief for car insurance policyholders.

  1. What if I am no longer driving my car due to COVID-19?

    By no longer driving your car, that means zero use of your car. In this case, we can remove coverage from the vehicle which will generate a credit on your insurance premium. The credit amount can vary depending on how many months you are into your insurance term. If you request this change, you MUST call your Insurance Advisor to reinstate coverage before you drive your vehicle.  If not, you could suffer an uninsured loss.

  2. What if I still need to use my car, but am no longer commuting to work or school?

    In this instance, Intact has agreed to reduce premium up to 3 months to reflect the change in driving habits. The credit will be applied to your policy and will automatically go back to normal after the three month period is over.

  3. What if I make these changes but still can’t afford my insurance payment?

    Companies are being flexible by through these challenging times by waiving NSF fees and deferring payments based on a case by case basis. If you need to make these changes please contact us directly.

Adjust your kilometers driven today.

If the number of kilometers driven on all cars listed on your insurance policy has decreased, you may receive a reduction in your auto insurance premium. The fastest and easiest way to access a reduction is by filling out all fields in the form below.
